Privacy policy

This policy explains what CHS Oil collects when you use our website and mobile oil change service, how we use it, and the choices you have. We keep it short on purpose.

What we collect

• Contact details: your name, email address, and mobile phone number.
• Service location: the address where you want the work done, optional parking notes, and (if you use the "use my location" button) your device's approximate coordinates.
• Vehicle details: year, make, model, color, license plate, and an optional photo of the car.
• Booking and payment records: appointment times, services chosen, amounts paid, and refunds. Card numbers are handled by Stripe and never reach our servers.
• Technical data: standard server logs such as IP address, browser type, and pages visited.

How we use it

• To schedule, perform, and bill for your oil change.
• To contact you about your appointment by email and text message, including reminders and arrival updates.
• To keep a record of your vehicles so you don't have to re-enter them.
• To prevent fraud, enforce our terms, and comply with the law.

We don't sell your information, and we don't use it for third-party advertising.

Who we share it with

Only the providers we need to run the Service, each of which processes data on our behalf:

• Stripe for payments and refunds.
• Attio as our customer records system.
• Amazon Web Services for hosting data, storing car photos, and sending email.
• Vercel for hosting this website.
• U.S. Census Bureau geocoder, Photon, and OpenStreetMap to look up addresses you enter and show a map preview.
• PostHog for product analytics: which pages are visited and where people stop in the booking flow. It never receives your name, email, phone, address, or plate, and session replays mask anything you type.

We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect our rights, your safety, or the safety of others.

How long we keep it

We keep booking and payment records for as long as needed for tax and accounting purposes (generally seven years). You can ask us to delete your account, saved vehicles, and photos at any time; we'll keep only what we're legally required to retain.

Your choices

• Reply STOP to any text to opt out of SMS. We'll still email you about active bookings.
• Email us to access, correct, or delete the information we hold about you.
• You can decline to upload a car photo or share your device location; typing the address works just as well.

Cookies

We use one essential cookie to keep you signed in. We don't use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. Analytics uses a random id in your browser's local storage rather than a cookie, and it isn't linked to your name or email. The embedded map preview may set its own cookies subject to OpenStreetMap's policy.

Children

The Service is for adults. We don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.

Changes

If we make meaningful changes we'll update the date above and, where appropriate, email you.
